I have started an empire in the former east coast of the United States. Now I need to think globally. Where to start? England? Nah', I still want another country to visit on this planet. Germany? Nah I'll leave my ancestral home alone. France? After seeing this little clip, I'm thinking this will be a "Desert Storm-style" 24 hour blitz and wham I'm ruling a new country.
Cyborg Trucker's Role Playing and War Gaming Blog
My blog is about all the different war games and RPGs I play and run. Here I discuss armies I'm working on and scenarios I want to run. Also I will discuss those parts of pop culture that influences my designs and tastes.
About Me

- I’m a 30 something Sci-Fi and Horror geek. I love to role-play, build wargaming models and paint miniatures. My sister got me into RPGing with the purchase of the D&D Red boxset. Unfortunately to this day I have never played a game of D&D or AD&D. But I have played a ton of others, just see the huge list below! I entered into wargaming by lucky chance. I bought my first GW miniature when I was 12, but didn’t see my first wargame till the next year in high school. My friend Dave (The Blue Gnoll) and Cain played the original 40K "Battle at the farm" scenario after school. From that point on I was hooked. So you all have the Blue Gnoll to blame!!!

China WTF?!?

I went to the FLGS and ordered some Chinese food with the guys. So the order shows up a half hour later and when handed to me, my pork fried rice, I found this delightful message scrawled across the top lid. You fuckers want some of the Trucker? Come and try to tear a piece off bitches! Is this some new kind of product safety information policy at the local Chinese food joint?!? I did end up eating it but at least I have a half dozen witnesses in case I die suddenly. Really China what did I ever do to you guys?

I got an interesting Email tonight.
I see you took down your Comments. What happened to the loud-mouthed, take-no-bullshit, kit-basher I have grown to admire and respect? I can't believe you would take down your feedback because of a few people. What about all the nice things people have commented? Don't punish your fans, just delete the assholes! Please re-open your comments or I will have to email you everyday!
Dogtags
Well with those kind of arguments, demands and threats how can I say no? So I'll open back up the floor to discussion lets just keep it civil. I won't cuss or be an ass on your blog do the same for mine.
Thanks!

Thousand Sons and Tzeentchian Chosen.
I've finished painting my second squad of Thousand Sons (except for basing) and finished my first Chosen using the red primer from The Army Painter. People at my FLGS have told me it looks good. But realize that is after about 12 hours of work. With about 4 hours on just getting the surface back to a workable condition after the job the primer did on the mini. Next I am moving onto the Chosen with the I.G. (1980's era) Lascannon. Once both squads are done I will finish them up with a nice basing and protective coating.

You never asked for it...
...but they made it anyways!
Megalodon versus Giant Octopus! They call it Mega Shark versus Giant Octopus cause calling it by its actual name would probably leave all the dumb people scratching their heads. And the sound would be deafening! Also why isn't it a giant squid? That's what scientists have been looking for on all the science shows I watch.
But on the up side there is Debra (don't call her Debbie) Ann Gibson. She took it all off for Playboy in 2005. I wonder if she flashes a little skin in this sci-fi horror piece of drek? On a side note who the fuck thought taking nude pictures of Paris Hilton in the same issue was a good idea? WTF?!?
How soon before it's on Sci-fi Channel? Oh wait as of July 7th Syfy, what ever the hell that means! My brain keeps trying to stick the letter "r" between the f and the y. Making me think of it as some sort of space stir fry. I knew this planet was doomed the second Muggle made it into The Webster's Dictionary. Will they still spell Channel like a grown up or make up more kiddie words for our lazy society to slaughter? I always loved how you can't have a slaughter without laughter. Cause in the end doesn't everyone want to laugh? I know I do! And I'm sure this trailer will get a few out of you!
I normally put my TV and Movie reviews on my other Blog but I thought this one should make it to my Gaming Blog

The Army Painter Coloured Primer
My FLGS let me try out a can of their product for free so they could gauge sales of it. I was excited at the chance to try out something before I buy it. After the last company to produce a colored primer (GW) I was hoping for better. My opinion of the product is so-so.
The Good
- The red is actually red and not Blood Angels Orange. With a gloss coat you could make a very eye-catching hot rod red Land Raider.
- I wash all my miniatures in a pan of water with just a couple dots of dish soap in it. Then rinse them thoroughly and let air dry. Nearly half of the ten miniatures I primed, that are composed of model plastic, lead and pewter, ended up with a sandy finish that was very reluctant to smooth out*.
- The pressure the paint comes out at is pretty poor. This may be a manufacturing flaw. If it is fix it.
- The paint doesn't cover so well. It took 2-3 coats to cover gray pewter, off white plastic and gray plastic.
- Inks and washes don't seem to react well with it. My inks and washes instead of flowing just clumped and left the mini spotty.
So that's my experience with the product. I realize it is not a glowing review but here it is as it happened for me. Your experiences may differ.

New 2000pt Plague Marine list.
This is my new army list after the terrible beating I took from the Eldar last week. I'm trying to go with more Troop choices. And be a little fluffy with them not having a lot of troopers with heavy weapons. The Defilers are agile gun platforms that can keep up with the foot sloggers and unlike Dreadnoughts don't go ape-shit at the worst moments. I still have 15pts or so to figure out what to do with.

Tzeentchian Veterans
I have a 10 man Chosen squad for my Thousand Sons army. It is composed of all sorts of old figures and parts. I particularly love the leader with the Moon shaped helmet and fungus body. I miss the fungus among us! The Meltaguns are new and from the reorganized bitz pages. They have 2 Meltaguns, 2 Plasma Guns and a Lascannon. I think and because I can't ever paint an entire army one scheme, I will have these follow the Pre-Heresy color scheme of red with silver highlights.

I also won two fungus body Tzeentchian Marines carrying Lascannons on eBay. When I can find 2 more Heavy Weapon Renegades or makes some, the army will gain a new unit in the form of Havocs. They can help support the Obliterators I already have finished for the army.
And while I'm writing this entry my brain is still fighting the need to make the right army composition. I started thinking the force is too vehicle light. NOPE...slap! More troops...more troops...more troops! Nothing less! Aaaaahhhhhh!

A little more demon musing.
Ok so I looked over the Chaos Space Marine FAQ. There is nothing in it declaring Lesser Demons not being able to hold objectives. So now I'm trying to remember who the hell told me that ruling. Since I can't remember I'm going to have the question address on a Blog that does a weekly FAQ Q&A and see if they would mind clearing this up.
I'll post the answer here if I get one.

Had my first 5th edition Eldar battle...

I probably don't have to tell you how bad it went. I'm thinking Custer had it better at the end than I did today.
Eldar were freaking everywhere! In the trees, in the skies and running up the middle with the Avatar in the lead. Oh and to add another slap to the face Paul wrecked the Rust Bringing in the 2nd turn cause it looked scary! Arrgghh! Why do the pretty ones die first?!
I'm still subconsciously resisting to build the correct army lists for 5th ed. I think it is because there are so few options for the missions. And don't give me the infinite combinations BS. After about the 5th Dawn of War set up I'm about to pull my hair out (see picture in previous entry). I understand the missions and setups, I just don't like them. Give me a scenario to play not some basic training mission. Also the Troops heavy army lists is a bitch when buying expensive Plague Marines IMO. At least if you want to kit them out right. But you have to have Troops if you ever want to hold something and not just contest things with other types of units. Also I still contend that lesser Demons should be able to hold an objective. The book says they count as Troops. I mean come on, they only have a 5-6 invulnerable save, are middle of the road close combatants and have no ranged attacks. What!? Do they need to hop on one foot too to get some reasonable love? Bullshit in my opinion.

New format change.
I'm removing the Comments from my blog. This way I can blog about whatever I want without having any sort of misunderstanding or confusion on exactly what a reply means. My email link will remain if you would really like to comment to me directly.
As for replies from E-mails if you don't get one I'm either biting my tongue, your email started out insulting and headed south from there or for some esoteric reason known only to me.
My friend Jim did point out to me that I have over reacted some in his opinion. I respect that, he's always been a level headed thinker and a person I go to when I want input.
So without the comments to fall back on I will assume you my readers are hanging on my every blog entry like the sycophants who follow Lindsay Lohan's Twitter twat-tle. Cause in the end reality is what you make of it and I'm a custom-crafting fiend so you can only imagine the universe I have created for myself to live in.

The Rust Bringer!
This past Sunday I finished painting the newly upgraded Rust in Peace. On the way home an asshole blew through a stop sign right in front of me. It slipped off the passenger seat as I braked hard to avoid the fucking moron. In the fall it lost a leg and needed fixin'. So here it is in all its evil perfection. Repaired and ready for tank hunting.
To do the corrosion the model started out primed black (Armory) and was dry-brushed maroon (Reaper). I then dry-brushed the whole thing lightly with Steel (IWM). Next I slathered on very watered down orange paint. If you are worried about how thin to make it, water it down a lot. This way if the first coat isn't enough you can add a second or even third. Once that was all dried I gave it a final dry-brushing of Boltgun (GW). The Lascannons, muzzle and head were touched up with copper (Reaper) for some detail.

Thousand Sons squad half-way.
Finished up 5 more Thousand Sons. I look forward to finishing the entire force but as they aren't Nurgle these take a little longer as I take the time to paint them neatly. Thousand Sons in my eyes are very ornate, almost regal. Like the Eldar they wear armor that is jeweled and trimmed in precious metals.
I have three 10-man squads of Thousand Sons. The first one I finished was composed of original "parade rest" marines with a new T.S. sorcerer. I felt the new sorcerer fit with the stiff and kind of stale older traitor marines. For the two new squads I used the T.S. box sets and added parts from the old fantasy Chaos Warriors box set. No not the horrible sandwich ones* GW came out with. The ones before that. The fantasy armor legs add to the regal ornateness. Then for each squad I am using a blister pack Chaos Sorcerer.
*I only dislike them from a converting point of view. A mini that I have to chop to pieces is more work than I want to do normally. I understand why they made the new ones. Getting them into formation on a tray is easier. But as an age-old parts collector, thppppt!

The Monster that Challenged the World!
So I'm watching the classic b/w monster movie on THIS network. They also had some other gems like Frogs and Howling 2 on today. In a way the movie's theme kind of reminds me of the Chtorran menace from the David Gerrold series. On the mollusk the close set, lidless, lamp-like eyes are really similar to the way I've seen the Chtorr portrayed in artwork.
Times have also really changed for how women are portrayed in horror stories as the two depictions show. Ones about to be dinner while the other is busting out the Weber grill on the worm's ass! Even the woman in the movie poster with the blue shirt is getting ready to perform a lung-emptying scream.
That's a book series I wouldn't mind seeing produced as either a live action or animated series of movies. Either could be super graphic and action packed. Of course that would require the author getting off his bum and actually finishing the novels instead of blogging about how minding blowing awesome the unpublished books 4 and 5 are.
